We created Planet Watch, and specifically the idea of the library, because people were beginning to care much more about the crisis, we are facing but lacked information about what was happening to their world and how it affected them

What will happen as the glaciers in the Antarctic melt? What happens if we continue to cut down so many trees in rainforests? How can we survive droughts, floods and wildfires? What is the effect of Greenhouse Gases on our lives?

It is not easy to keep up to date with events on a regular basis. Books are out of date before they are published, TV has limited coverage, so on-line news channels, the press and journals are the main source of news, but you can only subscribe to so many. We hope to fill at least part of that gap.

Antonio Guterres is Secretary General of the United Nations. He is a tireless advocate for Action against Climate Change and is among the World’s greatest leaders. He is passionate and outspoken and should be admired by us all.

“We are on a highway to climate hell with our foot still on the accelerator.”

Sadly, the United Nations does not have enough power to act on some of its recommendations. The powerful nations and the fossil fuel industry will determine the future climate on Earth, unless we do something.
